New Employee Training |
| John Deere requested that a one-day foundry basics course be developed for new hires at their foundry in Waterloo, Iowa. When John Deere hires new employees for their floor positions, they are scheduled for a ten-day orientation. Their request for the foundry basic course is part of this orientation.

Casting Design Training |
| A one-day training course on designing castings has been developed for John Deere and Viking Pump Design Engineers. Part of this course includes the participants making castings to understand how the entire casting process works.

Sand Control and Testing |
| A one-day sand control and testing course has been developed to help the less experienced employee understand the importance and techniques of sand control.

New Binder Training |
| The Metal Casting Center is assisting Hormel Foods in developing expanded binder capabilities for the foundry industry. Training programs at MCC provide foundries an opportunity to learn more about the binder material.

Educational Support |
| The Metal Casting Center has helped set up instructional foundries in four Iowa High Schools: St. Ansgar, Aplington, Mason City and Grundy Center.
